What is Smart Bin Eximus?

Smart Bin Eximus is a harvest bin tracking system for kiwifruit packhouses. It shows where every harvest bin is, and whether it is full or empty, without anyone scanning anything. It is made in New Zealand by Smart Bin Online Limited.

Who is it for?

Kiwifruit packhouses and post-harvest operators that send bins out to orchards during harvest. The people who use it most are the ones who plan the picking, book the trucks and decide where the empty bins go next.

What does it show me?

One map of every packhouse and every orchard you send bins to. Each site shows how many bins are there, and how many of them are full and how many are empty. Green is full. Grey is empty.

How does it know whether a bin is full or empty?

A bin changes to full the moment it is back at the orchard loading bay after going out to be filled. It changes to empty when it is tipped at the head of the production line. Nobody has to mark it.

Does anyone have to scan the bins?

No. Eximus runs by itself. There is no scanning, no bin card to fill in and no extra labour.

How does it work?

Each bin is fitted once with a small tag, and the system does the rest. We are happy to show you how when we talk.

Can it find a missing bin?

Yes. If a bin goes missing or sits idle too long, you get an alert that includes its last known location.

What do I use to see it?

Your phone, tablet, laptop or PC.

Who can see my bin data?

Only you. Each packhouse's data is kept in its own private database, separate from every other customer's.

How is it different from bin cards, scanning apps and GPS tags?

Eximus runs by itself, it sees empty bins as well as full ones, and it keeps each packhouse's data in its own private database.

Has it been used in a real harvest?

Yes. Smart Bin was trialled with a New Zealand kiwifruit packhouse in early 2026. Eximus is the commercial system that came out of that trial.

How much does it cost?

It depends on how many bins you run. Tell us about your operation and we will work it out with you.

Is this for rubbish bins?

No. Smart Bin Eximus is for harvest bins: the bins that carry fruit from the orchard to the packhouse.
