Bin tracking for kiwifruit packhouses

A kiwifruit packhouse sends thousands of bins out to orchards every day of harvest. Smart Bin Eximus, harvest bin tracking, shows where each one is and whether it is full or empty.

It's 5:30am. Where are your bins?

Harvest starts in two hours. The picking plan is set and the trucks are booked. The first question of the day is the same as yesterday's: how many bins are at each orchard, and how many of them are empty?

Eximus answers it before you ask. The map already shows every packhouse and every orchard, with a count of the bins at each and how many are full.

The questions it answers

  • How many bins are at each packhouse and each orchard right now?
  • How many of them are full, and how many are empty?
  • Which bins have been sitting idle?
  • Which bins have not come back, and where were they last seen?
  • Where should the next truckload of empty bins go?

What changes for the packhouse

Fewer bins. When you can see the idle bins, you can move them to where the picking is.

Fewer resources. Eximus runs by itself. It adds no scanning, no paperwork and no extra labour.

More control. If a bin goes missing or sits too long, you get an alert with its last known location.

A tractor and three trailers returning to an orchard loading bay. The bins that have reached the loading bay have changed from empty to full.
At the orchard, each bin changes to full the moment it is back at the loading bay.

Made in New Zealand, for the New Zealand harvest

Eximus is made by Smart Bin Online Limited, a New Zealand company. It was trialled with a kiwifruit packhouse in early 2026, and the commercial system is built on what that harvest showed.

Each packhouse gets its own private database, so your bin data is never mixed with anyone else's.
